Gosford RFS Bulk Water Brigade was established in 2004 and is run and administered entirely by volunteers. It is one of 16 volunteer brigades, Communications and Canteen units within Gosford City.

Gosford City (District) with approximately 590 active volunteer members, is one of 35 Rural Fire Service (RFS) Districts and 10 RFS Zones which form part of NSW Rural Fire Service - Region East. With an population of approximately 400,000 and an area of approximately 400 sq.kms., the City has significant areas of urban interface.

Region East encompasses the densely populated Sydney basin, the coastal zones north to Port Macquarie and south to Kiama and stretches inland to Bathurst, Muswellbrook and Merriwa.
